Chest tightness

Chest tightness is scary — but often it's muscle strain, reflux, or anxiety.

When it's usually nothing
  • You can point to the exact spot with a finger.
  • It changes with breathing, movement, or pressing on the area.
  • It came after coughing, lifting, a big meal, or a wave of stress.
When to get checked
  • Crushing pressure, especially with sweat, nausea, or arm/jaw pain.
  • Sudden shortness of breath that won't ease.
  • You feel faint, or your heart is racing and won't slow.

Take a breath. Let's figure this out together.
