Fever in kids
Fever is the body doing its job. It's usually not dangerous by itself.
When it's usually nothing
- Child is drinking fluids, making wet diapers, and still plays between fevers.
- Fever responds to a normal dose of children's pain/fever medicine.
- Cold or flu symptoms are around — runny nose, cough.
When to get checked
- Any fever in a baby under 3 months.
- Fever with stiff neck, rash that doesn't fade when pressed, or trouble breathing.
- Very sleepy, unresponsive, or a seizure.
Take a breath. Let's figure this out together.
