Ear pain
Ear pain is common after a cold, and often eases with time and warmth.
When it's usually nothing
- Started with or after a cold or allergy flare.
- Warm compress and OTC pain reliever help.
- No fever over 102°F, no drainage.
When to get checked
- Severe pain with high fever, or fluid draining from the ear.
- Sudden hearing loss or dizziness.
- Swelling or redness behind the ear.
