Red eye
Most red eyes are irritation, allergy, or pink eye — not vision-threatening.
When it's usually nothing
- Itchy or gritty, with clear or slightly yellow discharge.
- Improves with a cool compress and lubricating drops.
- Vision is still normal.
When to get checked
- Sudden vision change, severe pain, or light sensitivity.
- After an injury or a chemical splash.
- Very swollen or with green pus draining heavily.
